Attention families of the Class of 2025! We are pleased to announce our 2012-2013 Kindergarten Round-up for children turning five on or before September 1, 2012.
Green thumbs at Grant
Two gardens are sprouting at Grant with help from a $50,300 State Farm Insurance grant. Sponsors will break ground on the school’s east lawn during a celebration on October 1st.

Each year just before the first day of school, PPS organizes Project Community Care, a citywide volunteer initiative that beautifies schools.
Students will get PPS email accounts
Portland Public Schools is giving every student his or her own email account — as well as shortening all email addresses to “@pps.net” — as part of a big technology upgrade.
Field Day!
On June 3rd, the entire school will participate in Field Day. Alana Burny, our fabulous PE instructor has planned a number of fun filled stations for students to experience.
Conversation about school buildings will continue
By a margin of fewer than 1,000 votes out of almost 120,000 cast, voters turned down the PPS construction bond this week, postponing improvements to schools. Superintendent Carole Smith called the results disappointing, but said the conversation about the urgent need to rebuild and improve schools would enter a new phase.
Walk + Bike Challenge Month Ends With A Kick!
