Standing Rule Amendment / May 2008

Some issues that have arisen this year at various PTA units across the state have prompted to the Oregon PTA to recommend updates to local PTA Unit Standing Rules. The Executive Board of the Hollyrood-Fernwood PTA proposes the following amendment to the Unit’s Standing Rules and hereby forwards them to the General PTA Membership for consideration in advance of the 19 May General Meeting.  These changes require a majority vote of members present at this meeting to carry.

Between Fiscal Year and Quorum paragraphs insert new paragraphs as follow:

“Budget: Increases to Expense line items in the PTA Budget must be approved by a majority vote of members present at a General Membership Meeting.  Any Expense line item in the Budget may be increased by an amount not to exceed $500 if it is agreed upon by the Treasurer, President and two other Executive Board members.  This agreement must be recorded via e-mail.  This Expense must be presented to the membership at the next General Membership meeting and must be reversed if not approved by a majority vote of the members present at that meeting.  No further increases to such an Expense item may be permitted until said increase is considered and voted on by the General Membership.

Reimbursements: Any person requesting a reimbursement from the PTA for monies spent shall submit a receipt to the Treasurer within 60 days of the expenditure.  Reimbursement Requests shall be made using the PTA Reimbursement Form.  Approved Reimbursements shall be distributed within 30 days of receiving a Reimbursement Request Form.
