Volunteering at our school

The Beverly Cleary School PTA is seeking to fill committee positions for the upcoming school year.  We need chairpersons, co-chairs, and committee helpers!

Examples of committees/programs that can use your help:

• Room Parents (help your child’s teacher!  Coordinate classroom volunteers and special activities - Needed every year for every classroom.)
• T-shirt Sales (coordinate design & sales of school shirts)
• Scrip (a key fund-raising activity which involves filling orders for gift cards for a wide variety of merchants; retailers make a percentage contribution to the school and participants receive gift cards for amount purchased)
• School Garden/Landscape Committee (help coordinate landscape, care & improvement projects on school grounds)
• Showcase Displays (create displays such as monthly calendars, art work, special event promotions in the cases near each school office)
• Reader board at Hollyrood site (update on an as-needed basis)
• Yearbook (assist other parents and students prepare the school yearbook using online software)
• Run for the Arts (help coordinate the annual spring arts funding event)
• Chess Club (provide assistance and mentoring at this great once-a-week extra-curricular program)
• Green School Program (set up a reusable lunch tray program so we don’t send so much to the landfill!)
• Reading Challenge (help reward kids for good reading habits!)
• Passport Club Checker: One parent per class to volunteer the last Friday morning of the month for 2 ½ hours (9:00-11:30) on “Passport Check-in Day”.
