Through your efforts, Beverly Cleary School finished in FIRST PLACE with the Lloyd Center Mall's Earning for Learning fundraising program!
Purchases made through October 31st that were turned into customer service qualified toward our total. The top prize of $4,000 will be deposited in our account and provides a jump start of our fall fundraising campaign. Our school has finished in first place 3 out of the last 4 years, and finished second the other year.
It is only through the combined efforts of the Foundation, communication and reminders that we send via email, the newsletter, and the website, and YOU taking the time to shop at Lloyd Center and to turn your receipts in that we were able to achieve this success. On behalf of the Foundation, thanks to each and every one of you that participated!
Our new bumper stickers declare "We support our neighborhood public school" with the Beverly Cleary School logo beneath. It's a great way to let others know about our new school and our new name and we want the whole community to be excited about our students!
You may also start seeing around the neighborhood another kind of sticker. You'll see these in the windows or on the doors of neighborhood businesses that support our school. Your PTA board is canvassing businesses; if you have a business or work in the neighborhood and would like to display your support for Beverly Cleary School, please let us know and we'll be sure to get right over.
If you missed out getting a bumper sticker or a BCS refrigerator magnet, they are available in the school offices. The magnets have the office phone numbers and website address printed on them--handy information to have.
It's time to start planning the class art projects that will be available to the highest bidder at the auction!
For new families...each year each individual class has the opportunity to create a wonderful group art project. These range from mosaic tile tables to fused glass platters...to framed art...quilts...and more. These items are a HUGE hit at the auction and help raise important $ for the School Foundation. This year we are hoping to collaborate with some local professional artists to create a few of the projects. We also have wonderful creative parents as well...who wants to join in?
Interested parties please come to an informative meeting regarding the class art projects for the auction. If you are interested in participating, please check in with your room parents. Each class must have at least one representative attending the meeting. If you don't know who your room parents are or have general questions....please contact Amy Hekker.

Scrip sales at both buildings have resumed and, for those of you that are new to the Beverly Cleary School community, Scrip is a very successful PTA Fundraiser.
Every Tuesday morning, orders are taken in the main hall at both schools for Scrip cards, which are essentially gift cards at a wide variety of local grocery stores, restaurants and retail stores. Completed Scrip orders can be turned in to Scrip volunteers on Tuesday morning by either you or your child, and need to include payment in the form of a check made out to "Beverly Cleary School PTA" or cash - we do not have the ability to accept credit cards as payment for Scrip orders.
The filled Scrip orders are returned to you on Thursday afternoon of the same week in one of the following ways. Either you can sign a backpack release form and have your Scrip order given to your child's teacher so that your child can bring your filled order home in their backpack, or you can look for a friendly Scrip volunteer in the main hall after school and collect your order from them. If neither of those options work well for you, let us know and we'll see if we can make some other arrangement.
