Even despite the rain, wind, and hail there have been lots of folks on their bikes, feet, and scooters this month.
Here are the results from the Walk + Bike Challenge:
In Week 1, BCS had a total of 585 trips to school, of which 126 was by bike, 366 by walking, and 93 by some other form of human mode of transportation (skateboards, skating, etc.). Other winners for the week: Mr. Robertson's class for the most trips made by one class (73) and Mackenzie Hnath from Ms. Hickey's class won the drawing of the students who made the most walking/biking/etc. trips to school.
Week 2: Students completed 95 trips by bike, 298 by walking, and 58 other human powered ways to school for a total of 451 trips! The winner for the class with the most trips this week was Ms. Miller's class (third grade), and the raffle winner for the student who made the most human powered trips is Eleanor Warner.
Week 3: Biking 148; walking 279; and other forms of human powered transportation 56 for a total of 483 trips that week. Ms. Hickey's class recorded the most trips to school, and Eli Hollen was the winner of the raffle for the student with the most trips that week.
Week 4: Biking 123; walking 301; and other forms of human powered transportation 91 for a total of 515. Ms. Conklin's class recorded the most trips to the school, and Alejandro Barbosa was the winner of the raffle for the student with the most trips that week.
All in all, BCS made a total of 2,034 trips for the walk + bike challenge!! Great job!! If you are interested in seeing how other schools did, check out this link (not all schools have recorded yet).
